February 11, 2021 — Discount for the child accommodated on the extra bed

Travelline Extranet has a set of discount types, which can be created from the «Discounts» section. You can increase your direct bookings and make your guests feel welcome.

It is possible to create discounts for particular rates or room type, for different periods. You can set a discount for registration, discount under promocode, discount for the guests from OTA.

In this article we will show you how to set up a new type of discount - «Discount for the child accommodated on the extra bed». This discount allows free or discounted child accommodation on one of the existing extra beds.

To set up the discount

1. Go to «Room management» > «Discounts» section.

2. Select «Discount for the child accommodated on the extra bed» discount type.

3. Specify the size of discount. For example, 100% discount if one of children should be accommodated on the extra bed for free. The discount will be applied for the selected children age range.

4. Select child age range. The ranges are taken from the «Main settings».

5. Select which child should have a discount:

• The first - if this checkbox is selected, the first child from the selected age range on the extra bed will be accommodated free of charge (or with discount). The second child from the selected age range on the extra bed will be accommodated for the «Extra child» value specified in the rate.

• The second - if this checkbox is selected, the first child from the selected age range on the extra bed will be accommodated for the «Extra child» value specified in the rate. The second child from the selected age range on the extra bed will be accommodated free of charge (or with discount).

6. Specify the name of the discount. It will be shown to the guest in the reservation confirmation.

7. Specify discount validity. Select period of stay, rates, room types with extra beds.

8. Click on the «Save» button. It will be possible to edit or delete the discount by clicking on «Action» button in the list of discounts.

How «Discount for the child accommodated on the extra bed» will display on the booking engine

When a guest selects the number of guests which complies with the conditions of discount, the discount for the first/second child will be applied automatically.

«Discount for the child accommodated on the extra bed» specific features

• discount is available and will be applied once two or more extra beds for children are set in the room types;

• when children extra bed rate is specified in the rate. Discount will be applied to this rate;

• it is cumulative with other discounts;

• discount will be retained when modifying in the bookings report by hotel manager (for hotels not using TL: WebPMS);

• discount will be recalculated when modifying by the guest.
